Arzábal - Madrid

Arzábal is my recommendation this week. It's a great tapas and cozy restaurant located next to the Retiro park. It offers great service and great food. The food can be described as just traditional tapas made with high quality ingredients with a twist in their preparation.

Their menu seems complete and not lacking options, but I end up ordering the same dishes every time I go. I love it anyways! They have two menus, one for the bar and one for the tables, the best option is to order from both regardless on where you're seating and share. For a table (which is the best option for me) make a reservation...it tends to be super crowded on weekend nights.

The house wine is Terrible, actually really good, red one is a Ribera del Duero and white one is a Verdejo from Rueda.

Dinner for two, including wine, €70. Enjoy!

Croquetas of mushroom boletus, at Arzabal in Madrid
Croquetas de boletus...one of their best bites and one of the best boletus croquetas in the city! a perfect dish to start ... Do try the Jamón Ibérico ones as well, they are made with sheep milk. Thelicious
Fried artichokes at arzabal in Madrid
Fried artichokes, they are the perfect spanish snack...crispy and really flavorful...Oh right, that's because they're fried! At Arzábal they are nicely done with little flour so it preserves better they true artichoke flavor

Cocochas de Bacalao - Cod a la romana. I usually love the cocochas al pil pil, but this version is also worth it!

Truffle and eggs fries thelicious at arzabal madrid
Oh my oh my....this is such a memorable dish. A must order at Arzábal. Skillet of fries and eggs topped with black truffles. No words...just smell and taste

Steak tartare thelicious at arzabal madrid restaurant
Steak Tartare, a classic. I loved it! it was strong in flavor and a bit spicy

thelicious foie gras at arzabal madrid
One more dish you shouldn't miss is their escalope of foie. Come on! it's foie, nothing can be wrong with a treat like this from time to time ;)

I did not have dessert, but what caught my eyes from the menu was their bread with chocolate and olive oil. An absolute spanish dessert.
