This is a must do in my Paris list. The first thing you'll see at the square is the stunning Madeleine Church, the second most amazing thing in the square is the fine food shops surrounding the Église. Give yourself over the gourmet pleasures!

Mariage frères is a well-known gourmet tea house. The Mariage family has a long history from the beginnings of French tea trade in the 17th century. Finally on 1854 the Mariages opened their first shop in Paris. This store has as much history as flavors of tea. They keep innovating with new flavors such as Creme Brulée tea! imaging that smell!
Oh yes...truffles, the black diamond of gastronomy? sure!
At la Maison de la Truffe you can find a restaurant with a tasting of different dishes prepared of course, with truffles. Also a small gift shop where you can find different products, whole truffles and you could even pay thousands of €....I took home with me anchovies with truffles, truffled foie gras, and truffled rilletes d'oie. So yes, there are some affordable products!
Since 1886 FAUCHON has been an exclusive provider of gourmet foods to Parisians. Not too long ago the old look was replaced with a very modern feel. It made me think I was in a high couture store shopping for food
They have it all, catering, gift shop, chocolates, tea, patisserie, wines, a lunch counter and café
Escargots de Bourgogne are one of the classic fine foods you find at Fauchon
Mini desserts, as you soon find out I'm developing a passion for food served this way in little cups and jars. Isn't pretty?

Macarons at Fauchon. Super recommend them, they are delicious and they offer more exotic flavors than other popular macaron shops. My special favorite is passion fruit :)

Not exactly at the square but very close is Ladurée at 16 Rue Royale , the mecca of macarons and many other delicious pastries
